AFKM-Foundation Scholarship Criteria & Eligibility

The Ambassador Francis K. Muthaura Foundation is committed to supporting bright, disciplined, and financially needy students pursuing studies in Management and Leadership. Below are the detailed criteria for selection:


  1. Age Limit: Applicants must be 35 years of age or below.

  2. Academic Excellence:
    • Must be a bright and talented student.
    • Must demonstrate sustained good academic performance.
    • Be available for regular mode of study.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
    • The student must have a clean and consistent disciplinary record.
  4. Financial Need:
    • Must be a financially needy student.

    • Must demonstrate genuine need for financial assistance.
    • Provide evidence of inability to finance their education independently.
  5. Equity Considerations:
    • The program endeavors to achieve regional and gender balance
  6. University Affiliation:
    • Must be a member of the University as either:
    • A staff member, alumni, or an admitted/continuing student

  7. Field of Study:
    • Must be enrolled in a Management and Leadership program.
    • Must complete the course within the stipulated study period.

  8. Research Contribution:
    • Must be able to disseminate research findings across diverse forums and public libraries.

  9. Partial Scholarship Coverage:
    • The scholarship covers tuition and library fees partially.
  10. Student Contribution:
    • The beneficiary is expected to pay the balance of fees not covered by the scholarship.
  11. Participation in Foundation Activities:
    • The student is expected to engage in activities and events organized by the Foundation and the University.

  12. Mentorship Program:
    • The student must enroll in the Scholar-to-Scholar Mentorship Programme
  13. Academic Progress Reports:
    • The participating university must provide semester-by-semester academic progress updates for each student.



Scholarship Application Procedure

The scholarship application is processed by the students’ University and presented to the Foundation with the University’s recommendation for consideration.
