Dr. Onyango Evans Odhiambo is a Kenyan academic, researcher, and consultant specializing in International Relations and Diplomacy. He currently lectures at Kenyatta University in the Department of International Relations and Political Science. His core interests span Cultural Diplomacy, Regional Integration, Horn of Africa Affairs, Peace and Conflict Resolution, International Security, Foreign Policy, and Humanitarian Development. He is especially skilled in transforming academic theory into practical policy frameworks.

He holds a PhD and a Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy, as well as a Bachelor’s in Education (Arts), all from Kenyatta University. Over the years, he has held roles including Tutorial Fellow and Government teacher under the Teachers Service Commission.

Dr. Odhiambo has contributed to several committees at Kenyatta University, including those on e-learning coordination, student advisory, and grant proposal development. Notably, he was part of university teams responding to ERASMUS and European Union funding calls. He has authored publications on topics such as UN peacekeeping in Darfur, AI in diplomacy, and East African regional cooperation.

He has supervised and graduated seven master’s students and is currently supervising five PhD candidates. In 2021, he was awarded a research grant by the British Institute in East Africa and received a PhD scholarship from the Ambassador Muthaura Foundation in 2015.

Dr. Odhiambo is recognized for his strong communication, leadership, research, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills—qualities that make him a valuable contributor to academic, policy, and development arenas.
