Mentorship

This is a personal development partnership in which a more experienced or a knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person who is willing to learn.

Kenya is endowed with great intellectual human resource capacity whose full potential and or capabilities remain untapped. The foundation provides an opportunity for our scholar and youth to tap into the wisdom of those who have excelled in various fields of endeavor that they present, and for the mentors, the program offers an opportunity to contribute to the legacy of future leaders of this country. The mentors key role is to pass n the mantle of knowledge, wisdom and integrity, experience and help the youth of this country rediscover their full potential.

Objectives

Enable scholars understand what a leader is and the role of a leader.

Promote patriotism among the young scholars and their peers

Nurture their career development in leadership roles.

Enable scholars to participate and contribute in the communities they line in or represent.

Scholars to become role-models in their society.

Outcomes

Young Patriotic leaders who can impact their community positively throughout the country

Leaders with a culture of volunteerism and strong community connections.

Build a network of scholars who have undergone an exclusive mentoring process.

For the Mentees

  1. An opportunity to gain valuable advice from mentors and learn from their experiences
  2. Through the program, mentees will ne nurtured to be ambassadors of peace and strengthen patriotism
  3. Through the program scholars/mentees will be future leaders with integrity, character, patriotic with outward looking aspirations and attitudes
  4. The scholars will mentored and coached to be leaders in the institutions in which they shall be appointed or elected and will therefore be influencers of change in terms of public policy and good governance.
  5. Scholars will have opportunity to form social and business networks and an opportunity to learn from the very best achievers in the country.
  6. Scholars will also learn how to be mentors of others and share the skills and experience from the mentorship program.

For the Mentors

  1. The mentors have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences with scholars who will be future leaders and therefore gain personal satisfaction
  2. An opportunity to develop visionary, transformational and servant leaders.
  3. An opportunity to learn new perspectives as the mentees come from different cultures and backgrounds.
  4. A mentor will have an opportunity to contribute to a legacy of transformative leaders of integrity, good character and who are patriotic.
  5. Mentoring allow the mentor to strengthen his/her communication, coaching and leadership skills by working with individuals from different backgrounds and with different personality types.
  6. Engage in volunteering opportunities.

Program Implementation

Group mentorship during sessions organized by the Foundation

Peer to peer supports group/interactions through alumni and college forums

Corporate sector participation through career talks, inspirations and actual hands on industry experience with the top leadership of various companies and institutions.

Public dialogues through diverse social and business platforms.

In the future top scholars from different universities will engage in a program which will involve rigorous training on leadership, participate in an exchange program within East Africa to meet and engage with leaders from various sectors.
